Not dum at all. Yea it is fairly new, but in an effort to eliminate things such as that I disconnected the intake tube from the air box and the bad idle rears its ugly head regardless. Once it does start it's bad idling I pop off an injector and it settles out put it back on and I don't have any problems (I don't even have to drive it, it can go through this whole song and dance in my garage) thx....any input is appreciated.

To clarify it doesnt matter which injector you disconnect???

Have you replaced your O2 sensor?

No it doesn't matter which injector I pull, it's just that #4 is the easiest one to get at - on the side of the x-pressway.

I have replaced the front o2, but I just cleaned out the rear one. I did this when I discovered a crack in my manifold. I replaced it with a SS APN header and new cat and muff as well. The front o2 is about 2 months old...could it have fouled out from the rich condition already?
Keeping in mind this idle problem was happening before the exhaust overhaul and after.

...maybe I can talk one of my local jeepers into letting me swap mine for his and see if that makes a difference. I hate to drop another $60 on an o2 sensor if I don't have too.

My rear leafs are gone giving me that "saggin waggin' look, so new leafs are in order.
I notice that Quadratec has a Heavy duty 7" arch pack.
Would this be a better replacement for stock or would I end up with that raked, 70's muscle car look? I really wouldn't want my rear to end up sitting higher than my front.

I guess I should've asked someone first.

I didn't know what a cat in a microwave sounded like. It's even worse than nails on a chalkboard. Man, what a mess. If I don't clean it up fast then there's going to be some serious trouble here tonight.

Can you use Super Clean in the microwave?

...and yeah, if your fuel pump sounds like that then you better get a new one!

How do I get the oil filter adapter bolt if the Torx splines on the bolt have stripped out, It is really on there! I have heard of putting a pipe wrench on there but I don't see how to even get one in there!

Thanks

Default High idle, sometimes rough and seems to backfire through intake

I am brand new here, and in fact brand new to cherokees. I just bought one the other day and I got a really good deal, so obviously its probably got a problem or two. It has a high idle, sometimes rough and it seems to backfire once in a while through the intake. From what i've read i'm assuming this is the fuel pump but i'm not sure. Any thoughts out there?

Welcome to CF. A fast idle and back firing through the throttle body can be caused by timing that is too far advanced, among other things. Need more info about the Jeep.
