Ah ok you got to push in the two hooks on the left in order to release the connector, what you opened is the top of the connector that is to remove the pins.

The red clips need to be pulled outward. Then squeeze the connector to disconnect it.

I didn't because I only have the crappy stock bottle jack right now. I'm finishing my move this weekend so I had to do what I could.

That "crappy" bottle jack saved me a lot of times. I love it. It's perfect jeep style, crappy, not functional, not user friendly but it always works.
Lift just one side and put the transfer case in N.

I'm sitting in the airport now, and my return trip will include my tools... And regular old floor jack. I appreciate the advice, but I wanted to share my experience since nobody mentioned this as a possibility.

I have an 88 xj with a closed cooling system it leaks out of the brand new bottle at about 150 degrees. Also my heater hoses are burning hot is that normal? I have replaced pretty much everything to do with the cooling system besides new heater hoses. Any suggestions on what could be the problem?

I don't know how to burp it better than I already have.
