I hope this works...I had a 98 Cherokee and it got 15 mpg which I thought was decent for a Jeep but now I have a 2000 Cherokee and it wasn't doing that good so I did a injector upgrade and installed a new coil pack and new Autolite Copper plugs. Ceap plugs but I thought they would be fine. Anyway Im lucky to get 13 and that isn't as good as it was before I did the tune up and upgrade so Im wondering if I did the computer reset correct because I didn't have a rough idle after I started it up like I was expecting. Any ideas? Please help...Thanks

I saw an installation on here a while back that sounded really good so I did it to mine.

It's a cherry bomb with one inlet and two outlets. I have an outlet on both sides behind the rear tires. Cost was around 60 bucks.

Love the sound - not loud, but really throaty sounding.

 

I've got another question for you guys.
I just recently put in a Rubicon express 3.5 inch lift kit in my jeep. Now I'm trying to move the track bar over. I drilled out a hole 3/4" over like the instructions say but it's not lining up. If you stand in front of the jeep and look at it it looks completely even. So my question is do I try prying on things until I get it to line up with the new hole or do I just drill abother hole right where it lines up because it looks even anyway?

 

rpm gauge moves slightly and stays at maybe 100rpm (yes 100, not 1000) when the key is ON but the jeep is not running. after cleaning the battery terminals it stopped doing so but once in a while it still happens. don't know if it's linked but I'm wondering what causes this?

What do you guys think about getting Ecco or Icon rims Line-X'ed? Problems with the bead sealing come to mind. As some of you might know I am kinda on a Line-X kick having some pieces done on my '00. I asked them. They did it once. Brought up the same question. The customer said the heck with it lets try. Problem is they never heard back from the customer so no idea of the outcome. Thinking would have them done completely. Inside and out.

 

I fail to see the benefit of inside, but at least where the bead goes maybe you could tape it off, just that one lip, and be fine. I don't think I would try to line-x the bead lip but all else would be fine

 

My thinking for doing the inside was I take off my wheels every April, clean them up good, and rotate the tires. Thinking with them being Line-X'ed a quick light power wash and I am good to go. Almost thinking of running a test rim. Pick up a cheap steel one, let them do it, mount my tire, and run it for awhile to see what happens.

 

Build sheet says I’ve got a 20 gal tank. I’ve filled it up about 10 times since I bought the jeep every time as soon as the light comes on. The light comes on steady at 200mi on the trip and it will only take 10 gal every time. Gauge seems to work properly except for this. (Reads full at full and travels smoothly throughout the drive)

The rear end sags a bit now and I’ve heard some rumors that the rear ended being lower than the front can cause similar symptoms. I guess my question is, is there any truth to this?

 

Well then that's definitely not normal. I get 14MPG but I've got a 3" lift and 33" tires with stock gearing and about 500lbs worth of extra bumpers. You should be getting 19-22mpg if you're on stock 225s.

Are you calculating the gas mileage or reading it off something that is calculating it for you?

Have you ever put over 13gal in it? There were two size tanks used. A 20 and a 13.5. Both look the same on the outside and are of the same dimensions. Seems those build sheets are as accurate as I once thought.

The most I ever put in was 10.5. I was aware of the multiple take sizes but assumed I had the 20 since the manual and build sheet agreed. A 13.5 tank would explain my problems.
