I'm pretty sure that's enough to get you on a few watch lists.

Thanks for the encouragement.

Since from what I gather the stock 96 and up dual cam profile will make a little more torque in lower rpm range would like to use it in the Renix short block.
To do this would I just have to use a timing set for the 87 - 90 Renix with the 96 up cam or are there other things that would need addressed?

Can anyone identify who made this camshaft and what the specs are?
New Camshaft Cam AMC Jeep Cherokee Straight Inline 6 Cylinder 199 258 4 0 Liter | eBay
They're listing it for 3 different engines. I don't like it.

Stock cam okay with you?

Greetings!

I'm a new member... and not YET a Cherokee owner, but I've decided that my next vehicle will be one, between a '93 and '00.

I want 4WD, I live in Tennessee so inclement weather isn't a huge threat, but it's iced up here a few times and I've been stuck at home with a Nissan Maxima. I also want a 5-speed, simply because I know they'll way outlast the auto boxes if you drive them right.

So my question is, did they even make a 4x4/5-speed configuration with the Command-Trac system?

Yeah 5-speed with SelecTrac (NP242, has a full-time option) was the one that never got built by the factory.

You don't want/need a Jeep Cherokee. Buy a Ford Escape.

I have a 96XJ with around 8.5 inches. Rough Country 6.5in lift kit, with 2in shackles in the rear and 2in spacers in the front, that's pushing around 8 years old. Starting to feel really stiff in the suspension. Any recommendations on new shock absorbers? Or other recommendations on a making it a better ride?

Bilstein 5100s are regarded as one of the best options. I wouldn't cheap out on shocks with that much lift.

Good evening.....I have a 2001 Cherokee Sport 2 door with a drivers side power window malfunction. It has been making a grinding noise in the full up position for the past 5 years. The motor would occasionally crap out but fix itself with a couple fist bangs on the door. Last week the motor stopped working. Got a new motor and reinstalled it to the regulator. Now the window is stuck in the up position. The 2 door has 2 brackets to hold the window vice 1 bracket in the 4 door. Both brackets are intact and not your typical plastic broken piece common to the 4 doors. I am trying to remove the wire and replace backwards, hoping to utilize a fresh side of the wire. The problem I am having is removing the wire from the primary bracket. The secondary bracket screwed out, but the primary won't budge. Does anyone know if it can be removed without breaking? Worse case scenario I will break it off and drill a couple holes with cotter keys to secure the wire......The female part of the primary bracket is metal, not plastic like the secondary (or like the primary in the 2 doors). Also, does anyone know where you can purchase a 2 door power window regulator? I ve searched all over the internets and can only find the 4 door regulators. Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance for any help.
