I have old-school 10' fiberglass (which is really funny to watch idiots touch it n scream) whip antenna with an old-school Cobra Cb. Works great. Have a splitter on the end where both my CB and UHF/VHF radios are hooked to it.

Why do they scream? Electrified by the antenna?

lol... no probably more like "barbed" by the fiberglass shards that are sticking out of the splintered shaft like a cactus.

Oh right. That would make sense.

Quick question.
I haven't really driven my 1989 xj in the 5 years working on it.
Since December on a few trips...
Oil leaking like crazy, easy fix, needed a new oil pan, installed, still leaking.
discovered the loose valve cover from previous owner.
I am picking up a new gasket today should stop the massive amounts of oil everywhere.

My question;
Was the loose valve cover responsible for my low oil pressure reading? (or is this wishful thinking)

this might be a noob question that comes up a lot but I can't seem to find an answer. Are there any shocks that I can safely run at stock height as well as with a 2-3" lift?

I need new shocks and pretty soon I'm going to need to replace the rear springs and eventually tires. I haven't decided if I want to just keep everything stock ride height or just buy a full lift kit soon. I'm trying to find out what my options are.

Nothing comes to mine. Shocks are generally targeted in a 1-2" range. I advise waiting until you make a decision and the nbuying everything once.

Stock shocks from a JK Wrangler will fit with 2-3" lift and may fit without any, but I can't confirm the latter. They can be had cheaply, though, from people who lift their new JKs.

yeah I'd rather be safe than sorry. Thanks.

Thinking about it I might just get some new stock leaf springs and down the road get an RE 2" add-a-leaf when it comes time for new tires.

Is Crown considered a good stock replacement? I'm willing to pay for quality and I desperately try to avoid paying for hype.

Crown is fine, but Old Man Emu is quality if you're willing to pay for it. I don't recommend an AAL in anything, even new packs. You're better off replacing the leaf springs with the height you want. I know you don't want to wait, but it's cheaper, easier, and better overall to do it properly once.
