Check Engine Light

Mine has been on for months. My Ultra Gauge does not come up with any codes so I took it to a garage. He put his reader on it and got no codes. He cleared the light, but before I drove off his property it was back. Checked again, no codes.

Any thoughts.

I'm guessing just the gas running down and burning on the manifold. But it appears like it's coming from inside the injector hole.

If that makes any sense.
Coming from "inside the injector hole" is pretty much impossible unless that cylinder has ZERO compression and the manifold is internally blocked. A vacuum leak of that size and in that location will suck all kinds of crap in and whistle while doing it.

I looked at it and from my eyes I don't think so, I thought it would have been the track bar or tie rod due to their ability to change the alignment, making me think if they where not present the wheels would then be able to do that, I don't know, just looking for y'all's opinion?
No it does not, the anti-sway bar reduces body roll by restricting the amount one spring can compress in relation to the other. Both springs may compress simultaneously uninhibited. Nothing to do with wheel turning... Not that I can see what you're doing with your hands from here...

Thanks salad, that's exactly what I thought, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't wrong before I spout off with my father... But seeing that I am, when he's in a better mood I'll explain it to him.

OK I'm looking at this progressive rate coils form PAC Racing and I'm not sure what spring rate to get. They offer 200 and 250 rate for 2" lift. Can someone help me out and explain how spring rate works on progressive rate coils?

Condenser. Yes you can unbolt all of it. Even could get a ac delete pulley or the belt for non ac models.

Anything worth doing is worth doing right. I would weld myself. But heh, I love my jeep. (1988XJ-Original owner.)

Default 1988 XJ Parking Brake?

When I pull on the parking brake lever it doesn't "click" anymore. It also will not stay up. I have "m.m'd" (Mickey Moused) a temp fix with a 4" piece of old shovel handle. But this is really annoying.

I have gone through all the online stores and cannot find even the name or part number for the lever or any or the parts that make sense to me. Can someone point me to a site, a member that knows this kind of thing, or even just list the parts I should check?

Thanks.

Sweetness. I know at some point i plan on deleting all the AC stuff, but while the radiator and stuff is out I might as well take it out.

Removing everything but the AC compressor is quick and free's up a lot of room on the passenger side of engine. Good luck.

So, I'm going to take my XJ in for that recall at some point.. but I called to set up the appointment and they can only do it on week-days and will need it "all day" which is really inconvenient for me... so I want to make sure my cat is stock before I go through the trouble of getting an appointment set up... is there any way I can tell if mine is the one that came stock?
