XJ Ask the Question Thread
Project today.
I've had a rear main seal leak for several months. After watching numerous YouTube videos I decided to tackle the job. It wasn't to bad. I spent more time getting the oil pan off and on than I did on the rest of the project. I was covered in dirty grease from head to toe. But hey I saved some bucks and learned a new skill.

We have a 3-96 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4, straight 6, automatic, 3.73 gears front dana 30 & back dana 35 with coil springs. It has been rolled.
Now we also have a 5-95 Jeep Cherokee 2x4, straight 6, automatic, 3.50 gears
dana 44 with leaf springs.
We're thinking about putting the front drive axle, transmission & transfer case from the 96 into the 95 & changing the front gears to 3.54 gears. It looks like the front axle will bolt up. shorten a drive line or two.
Even if this works, can I make or will the computer work out of the 96 into
the 95?
Or do you know a better way to do this? Or is this just a waste of time?
Anyway thank you for any insight you can give me for this job.

Your best bet will be to find another XJ to get the parts from.
