The one late model I've had has one but it's in pieces under the console.

Ok, so I checked P0118 is still there.

When I googled it, it says its ECT sensor high voltage at startup.

Does that mean its a code that happens once and stays there? At startup to me means it only does it for a second. I dunno. Engine temp in the Torque program seems to match my guage and nothing is malfunctioning.

EDIT:

Are all temp sensors on the thermostat housing the same? I have one on my parts Jeep I could swap out and see what happens. Its a 95 parts jeep my DD is a 99.

Torque and your gauge both rely on that sensor, all you've done is verified that the gauge works lol. To verify the sensor you need an IR thermometer.

I'd see about grabbing a JY sensor and going from there. Not sure what a new one's worth.

So just put a new alternator in my Jeep and still isn't charging? Had battery checked and said it was fine can't figure out why it's not charging. Any help is great

Well I'm not overheating or having coolant issues otherwise so I'm assuming it fuctioning somewhat close to properly. I need to buy one of those IR thermometers though.

I edited my post before you posted.

Would a 95 ECT work on my 99? I have one on a 95 parts XJ

Not sure, if I wasn't on my phone I'd check part numbers at Rock Auto. Have you taken apart the connector and cleaned it yet? Checked for bad wiring? If you've done injectors, manifold, or valve cover gasket maybe you damaged something

Wiring looked good I didn't test it. I have a multimeter but honestly wouldn't know how to check it.

I cleaned out the cennections the otherday with QD Contact Cleaner.

I did do injectors almost a year ago though.

Default Visor vanity light connection--how to disconnect it?

I am removing the visors on my 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo so I can recover them. There is an electrical connection for the vanity light that looks like some kind of a quick disconnect device, but I cannot disconnect it at all, let alone quickly. Can someone please describe how to disconnect this kind of an electrical connector? See picture attached.

If its got a red or blue piece of plastic in it its a pin u must pull....also small flathead to release the black clip...if that doesn't work mark one wire n try to pull the wires out of plug where the gray plastic is
