For anyone that has done an 8.8 swap, could you throw up a list of parts that I will need? Also I don't know if we will have to modify my brake system (proportioning valve, master cylinder etc. ) My original plumbing comes from D35 w/ ABS, later swapped in an 8.25. All ABS plumbing is still there but inoperable of course. The new axle has disk brakes & already geared to my ratio. Spiders welded & will remain so for a little while.
Thx

No. The pindle stays where it was before unplugging it. That means it will idle like before. Answer a question: did you eventually remove the throttle plate from the throttle?

my fuel pump runs continuously. its a renix 4 banger
went thru the whole test procedure as outline in the FSM/renix manual. i'm getting more than 1 volt,at the ecu, so the next step says if the fuel pump runs continuously to check the relay and associated wire harness.
but from my understanding, the relay is bypassed during startup, as is the ballast resistor. correct? ive been looking around and searching and finding conflicting thoughts about this.
i removed the relay completely and it still started up fine and ran continuously. so what else could be causing the permanent ground to the computer? maybe the wires at the pump itself are mixed up?
i didn't bother testing the ballast resistor cuz everything said it gets bypassed, and i'm not too sure where it is anyways.

When the pump keeps running it is usually because it is not able to make the pressure get high enough - so keeps running to try harder.
Blockage in pump / tank / filter might be worth looking at - as might be checking the ouput from the pump. Other thing to check is the regulator mounted on the fuel rail/TB. If the regulator has a damaged diaphragm then the pump will never reach pressure unless the regulator is replaced (or temorarily de-glitches itself).
The ballast resistor IS bypassed during cranking, and since it seems to be running fine once started i don't think the issue lies there.
The relay is in play here also - if it is stuck open it would cause the pump to run continuously.
First thing i would do is run a fuel pressure test. If it's a TBI, fuel pressure should be at 14.5psi at idle.

Ok. what you have to do is this: loosen the two little screws that hold the plate and move it around so that it is as flush as possible with the bore walls, then holding the plate closed with a finger tighten the screws.
if that doesn't work and you have installed everything else correctly (vacuum lines, gaskets etc) i'll tell you what to do with the IAC.
