please don't tell me you're spending an arm and a leg for a new OEM replacement cat.

You can get a high-flow cat from Summit Racing for like $100 if that.

here's one that would be a direct fit:

what cat? If it's a Magnaflow directfit you're golden. That's all i recommend. The universals work also, but require adapters/extensions.

i dunno if that's correct. That's a universal one, and magnaflow's website says #47206 as the universal fit cat for a 2001 XJ.

Direct fit for yours is crazy expensive due to the flanges, so get the universal and have a muffler shop weld the damn thing on for you

If its the frame the only "right" way to fix it is to weld the crack and then use a piece of thicker steel over the cracked area.
ok so what exactly is the skill level in this project and how hard is it to take the steering box loose

the main skill needed is knowing how to weld. Other than that its all pretty straight forward.

Sounds like you have a bad drag link bushing, either at the pitman arm or at the wheel. Could also be the trackbar bushings. Verify for sure by having someone turn the wheel left and right while you sit in front and watch (engine on).

a) truck body moves side to side before the tires turn = bad trackbar bushing(s)
b) pitman arm rotates before the tires turn = bad drag link bushing(s)
c) One tire turns before the other = bad tie rod end bushing(s)
d) steering wheel turns a lot before the pitman arm rotates = bad steering box, low power steering fluid, power steering leak

your right it does say on the can but it doesn't say which hose to use, it just said to use a hose that will allow the seafoam to get to all cylinders. After you did this, did your MPG improve? this is what I am hoping as I am only getting about 13 MPGs here around town, a little hard on my wallet at the moment.

Default ac compressor promblems

Hi new here. Just got done replaceing the head gaskets on my 2000 JGC 4.7. everything went fine. after all was done my ac compressor is not coming on. check all conectors. disconnect the ac switch and jump it compressor came on. replaced the ac compressor switch. still not working. did not disconect any of the ac system when doing the heads. plus check all fuses in the engine comparment. good. is there something else that i am missing, besides replacing the computer, because i think that would be the next thing. any help would be cool thank you. mike

I'm assuming you know what the brake booster is, use that hose and pour about 1/3rd of a can into the motor and then dump enough in to stall it. You won't hydrolock your motor and ignore anyone who says you will.

Let the Jeep sit for 30 minutes, start it, let it warm back up and then give it a good work-out and go for a nice peppy drive.
