I'd get either the rubicon express mono tubes, bilstein 5100s or old man emu nitro chargers.

2" Coil Spring Spacer kit
Bumpstop extensions
Precision-valved Twin Tube shocks

This is the kit from SeriousOffRoad...

You want monotube, or "nitro" shocks if you want a nice ride. If you aren't running bigger tires you don't need extended bump stops, and just order the cheapest spacers you can find.

Ok, my transfer case chain has a considerable amount of play in it so I need to order a new one. Is this chain the 1" or the 1.25" chain? My mind goes to 1.25" because of the measurement but I didn't know that any stock NP231s came with the 1.25". What chain should I get?

Only thing I found on eBay was zone offroad nitro shocks but they were twin tubes. Where can I find these good shocks for a decent price?

Bilsteins are $74ea on several sites. I haven't seen them cheaper than $68ea, and that was a sale.

That's a 1" which is stock for NP231J. 1.25" I think was on Chevrolet models. If you want a wider chain you need new gears

Does the carrier break in the D44 rear mean that if I regear from 3.73 (to 4.88) with an LSD carrier I will lose the LSD?

Depends on where the carrier brake is. If its 3.73 and numerically lower, you will, if its 3.73 and numerically higher, you won't.

Just googled it...

Seems the carrier break is 3.73 and down (numerically) and 3.92 and up

Correct. That's why I'm waiting to lock mine.
