What are you guys doing with this after trimming?

I ended up getting it eventually. For those reading. Just pull the side out closest to the starter and pull it out and over the starter bolts. You can the raise that side high enough for the drivers side to slip out and over the bolt that stays in.

 

Okay guys, I REALLY need your help now. I just replaced my CPS after my xj stalled out. It cranks and cranks but doesn't start. I have no spark from my spark plugs. How can I tell if I my ignition coil has gone bad?

 

Damn jeep has left me stranded a second time. And ive only owned it 3 months. This one is minor though. Heater control valve.

Anyone know what would cause the heater control valve to blow out the side of itself?

 

My right turn signal only blinks when I fully click it on. The "lane passing" mode where you just push it half-way does not engage the right blinker. The left side blinker works in both modes. I assumed this was due to something broken in the turn signal part, and planned to replace it.

But, I just noticed when I put on my hazards, the right blinker also does not engage. Only the left blinker flashes in hazard mode. Can it be related to the problem above? Is this a relay or something that is bad, and not the turn signal part itself?

 

my jeep only has front door speakers.when installing new stereo i noticed rear speaker wires. does anyone know where these wires run to? looking to install surface mount speaker in rear ceiling.

If you don't have a sound bar I would check under the panel of your rear hatch. Welcome to the forum!

 

Okay, So I think it is my ignition coil. Per my Manual it says to connect the positive lead to positive and neg to neg. Using the low scale (200?) it should read close to zero resistance. I am showing infinite resistance. So that test proves faulty. Am I using the correct scale?

 

Cheap plastoc design. My friend has had that happen 4 times. He bypassed his system ever since. I believe you can addapt a new metal version to work with the system.

 

Can anyone tell what this is? I just bought another jeep and this fell from underneath when I was taking the front end apart.

Ya I noticed it was really crappy plastic and broke apart even more while I was removing it to install the new one. I'll have to look into finding a metal one sometime, for now this new plastic should hold up. hopefully...

 

I wouldn't count on it, mine lasted less than a year. Just run your hoses straight to the core and get rid of the flimsy HCV. I think newer models don't even come with one. My heater is currently completely bypassed. Make sure you plug the vacuum line if you delete it.

 

We redid the valve cover when we replaced the VC gasket and in the process replace the pair of CCVs on the cover. There is a bit of a gap between the pieces (they swivel easy when not hooked up to hose and can lift up a small amount) and the cover and wanted to know if those should be air tight? Should I use a little high-temp rtv to seal the edges?
