my 00 xj check engine light is on and its becuase i have gas vapors leaking out of my gas cap, the metal flap inside the hose leading to my gas tank that usually closes when you remove the gas pump does not close all the way and leaks fumes. i was wondering if this is a common problem with my model and what i would need to do to fix it. im wondering if its a spring loaded flap or just pre bent metal that is wearing out and just how much ill have to tear apart my jeep to get at the problem. any imput helps.
