Depends, do you have any rust on the metal right above the windshield or in the crease? If you do the windshield must be removed as whoever installed that windshield did not properly prep and seal where the windshield sits before they installed it. You'll need the windshield removed and reinstalled properly for a permanent fix.

Seller was asking $40 for the set, but he was retired military. When he found out I'm enlisted, he gave them to me.

Dumb question imbound:

This is a Chrysler rear? Correct? I was told its not and that it's a Dana35. I was under the impression it was a Chrysler, judging by photos of the two. I'm almost 100 sure it's a Chrysler.

Sorry for the crappy pic I just took. It has a rubber plug not a threaded plug. When I flushed it and painted the diff I didn't see any markings. The front is a Dana 30 I know that bc it had Dana stamped on it when I flushed and painted it.

Well I just earned 5 bucks. Thanks for that. Lol

That's what I was saying I'm almost positive the flat bottom and the rubber plug is a dead giveaway to the 8.25 but some people never want to be wrong.

No visible rust at all outside the rubber weather stripping, and I can't see much when I look underneath it.
The windshield is the original one, which is why I'm a little reluctant to replace it!

I want to replace mine because it's original. I don't know the history or how many times it's been impacted.

Haha, I just like the fact that the little "Safeguard" logos on all the windows match, but then I'm a little OCD about that stuff.

Anyway, it's raining now so went to have a look. Water is coming in at the top of the A-pillar (drips at edge of headliner), and the water extends a couple of inches back from the top of the windshield.

Is this more likely to be the windshield or the roof rails (or something else!)?? I'm guessing windshield...

Either windshield or upper door seal, depending on exactly where it's coming from.

Mine are off a 2012 jk rubi and they cost me $100 off Craigslist.

And to the person asking about their rearend, that is for sure the chrysler 8.25. I can see the flat bottom and also recognize the diff cover.

So you think it stripped again? Retap or use a helicoil.

line it up, super glue it then smother it in jb weld then duct tape the hell outta it, and finally wrap it in zip ties! (thats what i had to do on my old subie gl wagon) went to drill it out and do all that good stuff, and i broke it all to bits...so i did the above and it never overheated anymore, nor did it leak
