Lol. For me, I liked that I could still takes corners in it, and also that I could feel the road. My other car is a '91 Camaro, and I like to know every crack and pebble I drive over.

Ok so I feel stupid but can't get my brain to function today. At 5" of lift, my caster angle is 9 degrees with the lower arms at their shortest. If i move them to their longest position, the measurement is 13 degrees. Seems backward to what everyone else says about needing longer lower arms hence my confusion. I am measuring caster with an angle finder on the top of the knuckle on level ground. I want to be at around 5 degrees so what am I missing here?

check engine light, bad mpg, engine not running great because improper a/f readings which wont allow engine to adjust for lean or rich mixture.

could it be the reason for my 6mpg highway? and why it kinda spits and sputters at a redlight in drive?

edit**
and my jeep is an 89...so its got the old dash...and the check engine light isnt on....but im not really sure if it has one....and if so where would it be?

on my last 4x4 trip my 2nd/downstream o2 sensor went bad according to my check engine light that randomly popped up while wheeling. It did seem like I used a lot of fuel driving back. Other than that I really didnt notice anything. If it were the upstream/1st o2 Im sure it would of run worse since thats the main o2 that makes the a/f readings. For your jeep you should only have 1 o2 sensor, Id replace just as a maintenance item and see the results. Could definatly be the cause of your bad mpg.

You wish you had a check engine light. Welcome to the wild world of Renix motors. Before OBD-II, before OBD-I, there was a bastard child of Renault and Bendix, and it is know as Renix. Nearly anything on the motors can be diagnosed with a multimeter, but the computer doesn't store codes when something is wrong.

As he said, though, your O2 is probably bad at this age. May not be your only problem, but it wouldn't hurt to replace it. Also clean your throttle body and try a can of Seafoam.

Thanks for backing up the info. Good idea on the seafoam, after replacing my intake/exhaust manifold gasket and seeing all the gunk inside the cylinder head passages I put seafoam into my fuel tank, intake, and oil then changed the oil after 100mi. If he just purchased his Jeep its wise to atleast perform a basic tune up. Oil, oil filter, air filter, plugs, wires, o2, seafoam, ... the list can go on and new parts will only make it run better (if the old parts need replaced) but you have to start somewhere. Just my .02, Im no renix guy btw so I didnt even factor that into my previous reply. Either way, tune ups are tune ups.

'87-90 don't have a CEL. Read my post above. As for Seafoam, the people who say that haven't tried it. It breaks up the carbon and other **** in your engine. Suck up about 1/2-2/3 of a can into your brake booster, immediately kill the motor, let it sit 10-15 minutes, start it up and watch the smoke show. It won't hurt anything except your relationship with your downwind neighbor.

Everything in this post is good info. Applies to Renix as well as High Output. Add distributor cap and rotor unless you have a '00/01.

so do a lil over half in the booster then the rest in the oil? what about the gas tank?
