44 and 8.25 are pretty much the same strength wise as long as the 8.25 came from a 97-01 with the 29 spline shaft. Much cheaper too but the 44 has a heap ton more aftermarket add ons. 8.8 will be incredibly strong but unless you plan on wheeling it extremely hard and running huge tires the work to put it in the jeep isn't worth it

I'm no expert but I don't believe I could even upgrade my brakes for $200, let alone step up to something nearly as strong as a Dana 60

That being said I'm still going with the 8.8. Scored one w/3.73's disc brakes and a limited slip for $100 bucks. It needs new brakes and I will fabricate my own brackets for the install.

My 98' has has an engine oil leak for a while now, its coming from the passenger side of the engine. If I crawl under I can see that the bottom of the oil filter is where the oil drips off. If I let the jeep sit for a day or two and look under theres a small puddle. I have a new oil filter on with a good gasket, and I just replaced the 3 oil filter adapter o rings. Any ideas? Could it be where the sending unit screws into?
