Nit that hard. I worked in a trann shop for a couple years when i was younger. all u need is a basic 9-10mm wrench or screw un. a basin to catch all the fluid. a new gasket and fluid and filter. it takes about ten to twenty minutes.
lift the jeep(preferably on a rack)
. loosen three of the corners and let the overfill flow out into the basin.
as the flow becomes less and less loos it more and more around EVERY corner. until its pretty much not overfilled anymore over the pan level.
hold the pan up with your hand. or have someone else hold it up.
keepin it level. while u unscrew all the bolts the rest of the way.
drop the pan.
remove the black filter.
scrape off the old gasket.
clean pan out of grime and corrosion and grease.
carefully put new gasket on after installin new filter.
put pan on with gasket. screw in every OTHER screw first. then go back and screw in the rest til they are nice and tight all the way around. i would suggest usin a torque wrench to avoid snappin any as that will cause some leaks later on down the road. u can use silicone too to help with the gasket seal.

refill fluid.( always used a thingah i cant think of the name of it. but i always used a small one at the transmission dipstick hole to refill transmission fluid from. if it has a port to refill from the bottom u could use that with a hand pump... hope this helped. would love some feedback from anyone else if i got any of this wrong

Unfortunately for me it sucked unlike the guy above. It all depends really. Something he missed is the dipstick is attached to the pan so if you follow the dip stick down to the bellhousing you'll find a bolt, take that off. That's the first PITA thing you'll do. Get a long extension and a swivel socket too. Next go out right now and spray the part where the dipstick separates in two with pb blaster It's closer down by the pan and you'll see it. Trust me it won't want to come off so do it now to let it soak. You'll have to drop the pan with the dipstick the first time but when it's off stuck a screw driver where they separate and hammer lightly and pry it off.

lol you most definietly need a tranny service then. lol
i remmeber pullin apart a old vw engine and tranny off a 1971 beetle that had been sittin for ten years. it wasnt even oil any more. or fluid. it was just plain crap. the horrid stenche that came off it was enough to make me puke.both tranny and engine were basically trashed. u ever see that Ford commerical when they showed what happens if u dontservice ur oil and fluids. yeah imagine that ten times worse. im surprised i could even get the damn thing to start. ahaha

ehh you my as well get the full pack.its only a 100 bucks more ussually and AALs dont last very long. full laf packs last longer and will save you money in the long run. plus when u go three inches higher. trust me. after a month or two u will want an even higher lift. so go with full leafs. unless u literally only have enouh for the AALs. try on Black Friday. I dont know if it will help much but its worth a try.

lol I seen 2wd rangers do stuff that even 4wd jeeps couldnt do. i would save up for the 4.5" that way you dont have to do the same job twice. plus it gives u time to find some decent tires to go with it. witha 4.5 i think u can go up to a 33 tires or maybe 34. 35s will probly rub so dont use that til u get atleast 5.5"
