My 99 only has the gas gauge and speedo. I want tach, oil pressure, temp, and volt gauges. Should I buy after market or go to the yard and buy a factory dash cluster that has all of them? I imagine wiring up a junk yard cluster to mine would be a bioatch or would it be just about as much work as wiring after market gauges?

It's easier than both. Replace gauge cluster, then replace the oil pressure sending unit. Done. Coolant temp is the same one the ECU uses on 99, voltage and fuel are already there.

I was just laughing at the way he said "telling me to do something to my mother"

Zombie, then get it and make her work. If its stock it wont be able to handle much weight though

Idk about the comanche but on a v belt rig most of the time the alternator acts like the tensioner. Gotta loosen it up and pull the belt tight using the alternator(works best with a friend) then tighten it back up.
