ADDING GAUGES
Hello all. I am new to the forum and just bought a 2000 Jeep Cherokee from my state surplus program. It runs good and is in overall excellent mechanical condition.
I have searched, but haven't found any actual installs or pics of what I am looking to do.
I want to add four gauges as I only have a spedometer and fuel gauge, and of course the requisite idiot lights. I don't like the idiot lights because by the time one of them comes on (if not burnt-out), the damage is done.
I am looking to add a water temp, oil pressure, voltmeter, and trans temp gauge.
Has anyone here installed four gauges in a base model Cherokee and have some pics of their install? I am looking for a clean install. Ideally I would use a quad A-pillar pod. I have looked for an A-Pillar pod, but can only find a dual gauge pod.

I saw some other links to swapping out the whole cluster. Do I have to get one from a 2000 or will other years work?
Also, how does one get the mileage on the replacement cluster to match the mileage on the original cluster? Is there someplace to send it for programming?

Picked up this Cherokee for a winter DD and want to add the missing gauges. I think that I will look around for a cheap cluster from a '97-01 and give that a try first.
Thank you for the help so far.

Any 97-01 cluster will work. The mileage is in the cluster itself, so just look for one with the same or almost same mileage as yours, and then you're good to go.

Thanks for the confirmation. I have read on a few posts where you have to change the oil pressure and water temp sensors to allow those to work properly with the upgraded gauge cluster. What about the tach? Do I have to replace anything to get that to work? Or is it just simply plug-n-play and it gets info from the ECM/BCM?
Probably gonna have to go the eBay route as the only wrecking yard within 75 miles doesn't have Jeeps in there very often.
