I think boosted tech makes a kit for the jeep wrangler with the 2.5l. Maybe this can be adapted to the cherokee.

I learned to drive stick on this cherokee, which is the reason I ended up buying a TJ in automatic. Can’t be bothered as much as I do enjoy having more control over the vehicle.

hell I used to drive 20 miles to school in my 1975 c10 4speed and no cup holders. A coffee in one hand, smoking a cigarette and banging gears. lol. And I shift my automatics now. I especially love the newer vehicles with electronic manual shift automatics. But yes there are times when they are less convenient.
