Looks like c - clip 35 also older 35s had screw in fill plugs..and non c clip.

I am assuming this is kind of a weak axle, I plan to put a 3 inch lift on the jeep and some 31's will I have anything to worry about?

Larger tire sizes tend to snap axle shafts when throttled hard.
Just search D35 on U Tube.

You'll be fine on 31s.. I know guys on 33s with a d35. Don't beat the **** out of it though and expect it to hold up.
