ive been having a problem with my 2000 xj spitting out coolant when i park and turn off the jeep. i had it pressure checked and was told it might be the tstat so i replaced it, i also replaced the upper and lower hoses, radiator cap, and had it flushed but still spitting out coolant after turned off. any ideas?

Start by replacing the radiator cap, the coolant should go into the recovery tank, not on the ground, the outer seal of the cap is likely bad.Originally Posted by wade3612

Make sure the cap is on tight and make sure to examine the fill-neck for any damage or warping, also check that the hose to the recovery bottle is on the nipple completely, clamped, and in good condition. If that doesn't fix the problem pressure test the system. If it is coming from where you say it is the only possibilities are a bad radiator, bad cap, or loose/missing/bad recovery hose.Originally Posted by wade3612

I've had to "crimp" the tabs on some new caps to get them to seal properly. Don't know if it's the caps themselves or the crappy plastic radiator necks.
