on my 99 xj, there is a small unit with two vac lines going into it. the location is on left side of engine bay, pretty much on firewall. it is a small unit, only a couple of inches in diam. it is making a ticking noise like an electric signal. but is that normal? sory no pics, public comp. w/o a pic program of any sort... thanks for the help...

Yes it is normal.. its a purge valve.. Cant remember for what though..

no, no, thank YOU... i love this place, you guys really know ur shiz. ive had this ongoing hesitation issue and wasnt sure if it was related... ive been thru the gauntlet with this one...

smacking that is bad.... don't be like me and smack it till it stops ticking.... pain in butt to find around me.
