Default shot in the dark..

on my 99 xj, there is a small unit with two vac lines going into it. the location is on left side of engine bay, pretty much on firewall. it is a small unit, only a couple of inches in diam. it is making a ticking noise like an electric signal. but is that normal? sory no pics, public comp. w/o a pic program of any sort... thanks for the help...

Yes it is normal.. its a purge valve.. Cant remember for what though..

no, no, thank YOU... i love this place, you guys really know ur shiz. ive had this ongoing hesitation issue and wasnt sure if it was related... ive been thru the gauntlet with this one...

That im not sure about, but if its not ticking then its not working.. i think.. But like the other guy said dont smack it around..
