Seatbelts on 1995 Cherokee Sport
Does the 1995 Jeep Cherokee Sport use pretensioners in the event of a collision/sudden deceleration, or an inertial locking mechanism? I only recently noted that no matter how suddenly I yank my belts they will not lock, and I have no memory of them behaving one way or another. While I highly doubt that all 4 belts are malfunctioning, I just wanted to be sure I haven't been driving with no seatbelts.

All I can tell you is on the 95 Dodge Caravan, the way to test the seatbelt locking mechanisms is to lift the rear of the van about 4 feet while the front sits on the floor and they should lock. Sounds like an inertial locking deal to me.
