Pulls to the right
I have a 1993 jeep Cherokee, was clunking in 4wd so I parked it for a while, replaced the right front axle shaft u-joint today, it pulls to the right real bad in 4wd any ideas. It also makes a whining noise while its engaged in 4wd

If it wasn't pulling to the right before, it might be something you did. If the rotor get's hot after a few miles, the rings in the caliper might be swollen.....
Btw!
. I just did mine a short while back. No cakewalk! (for me)
I waz just thinking. I needed to to tap/bash, then press, then tap/bash, carefully to keep from bending the "ears" on the yoke. Mine is old and pretty stuck. Anyway, after three miles of dragging something should be getting hot. If it is the joint you will need to go back there.

was the u-joint real tight after you replaced it?
you need to spread the ears on the shafts to loosen it up, you want a smooth free u-joint with no binding.

you don't need to do an alignment after you swap out a u-joint.
but maybe you need an alignment anyways to see what is causing it to pull to the right.

What I ment was when the last time you has an alignment?? Sorry about that....
Few things check your brakes to make sure they are not dragging
Does it only do it in 4wd or does it do it in 2wd as well???

it's easy to set the toe in at home, but if the castor is out, it'll be hard to measure that at home, which is what it sounds like it could be.

MMMM Curious what you found. Pulling only in 4WD might mean the front axle is moving when it, itself is "pulling".
Also just get a bud, go under and have him turn the wheel back and forth and look for any play in the steering linkage. Tie rod end?
