If your '99 has a stock motor, it doesnt have a PCV valve, it has a CCV line.

Dealership is your best bet. IIRC, the later XJ's (99 and up) had a different setup than the ones on earlier XJ's. When I replaced mine, the stealership was the only place local that had them.

Go to the dealership, that's what I had to end up doing for that part.

the one in the front is a plain elbow.

No actual PCV valve on the 4.0 Both of those lines leading in and out of the valve cover are part of the "CCV" system.

When you replace them, it is often best to replace the grommets that are in the valve cover along with both of those lines. (remove valve cover to replace these and clean the valve cover)

These lines and grommets harden over time and can also clog and prevent proper flow through the CCV system.

Total cost for all hardware is under $40 if I remember correctly, even at the dealer. Aftermarket doesn't save you much on these items.

Are you talking about the metal things that sit underneath each CCV hole? I just took those out, cleaned them really well, and put them back in. Honestly, I didnt even know they were replacable as part of the system. But, so far no more oil in the air filter.

Also, x2 in the aftermarket price range. IIRC, nearly every 'aftermarket' source gets these from the dealership simply because the specific elbow design is unique to the XJ. Someone correct me if I am wrong.
