Default Jeep Cherokee won't start if it rains?

So when it rains my car seems to never want to start. It has something involved with the battery terminals. I know this because they are brand new and when I unplug/replug the terminal it starts right up. When it starts right up I can see water just sprinkle or w/e you call it. I know this might be a weird question but I was thinking of getting a felt battery terminal protector from autozone. Do you think it would solve the problem or is there something else I'm missing? Thanks for any/all answers

Is your cap sealed well? And no, I wouldn't bother with battery terminal covers, especially if they are new/good.

When you have the issue does the engine crank? Or is there no response from the starter?

Nope my Jeep doesn't have terminal caps. As far as I know I never had one even after switching to new terminals

When it rains the engine does try to crank I guess. It makes like a zapping noise then when I unplug/replug the battery terminal it starts right up. It seems weird to me. Maybe my battery is bad? I mean it's only a year old lol

Try refreshing your ground to the engine block. It is the braided cable on the back of the engine. Remove it, clean the connections and bolt it back on.

Also check the connections on the starter. The starter solenoid tends to get bathed in oil when the oil filter is replaced.

Here's a pic of the battery. The positive battery terminal is darker then like last week.

This sounds like what I am experiencing ,if it is It's your battery terminals ,I can clean mine super clean, then tighten the crap out of them then maybe get 3 or 4 good starts ,then nothing ,until I clean or move the clamps again . I'm in the process of all new cables and grounds .

Agreed. Could be your cable terminals are too loose also. Generally that noise comes from a loose/faulty connection.

Is the cable that goes to the starter on the positive terminal? I don't see it!

There should be 2 cables on each terminal. Here is mine.

Here is mine...

I have 2 cables on the negative terminal and there's 3 cables on the positive terminal. Did I install them incorrectly? I honestly suck at anything involved with electricals other than installing a stereo. I used lineman's pliers to join the three cables together. Also any other way to clean battery terminals without buying the specific tool? I lost my terminal cleaner and I'm to lazy to go buy one lol
