Cool No gauge lights all of a sudden

So I was doing some tinkering on the xj yesterday and now I have no gauge lights. The fuse is good and my parking/headlights work so I'm guessig that the switch is still good. I didn't touch anything remotely close to the gauge lights but I did replace the positive battery cable going to the power distribution block.

Am I missing something? Is there an underhood relay specifically for the gauge lights?

anybody else? is there anything else that I could check out?

I noticed online that there is a dimmer switch and a headlight switch for our cars; i thought the dimmer was integrated into the headlight switch?

I have had the actual headlight switch be the cause of dash light loss all of a sudden. I had a spare and switched them which cured my dash light problem.
