if you were driving during the 1973-4 gas shortage (probably unlikely) you'd remember cow magnets. You would get them at the farm store; their real purpose was get one into a cow's stomach to collect metal scrap, nails etc before the stuff moved further down stream.
Anyway... you were supposed to tape them onto your fuel line to align the atoms in the gas and improve mileage.i actually knew a few people who got them.
maybe you should try them first 😉
