That stuff that the guy is trying to sell everyone one makes me wonder. If that chemical is that strong to supposedly desolve all of that sludge??? I can only imagine what it will do to all the gaskets and seals. It can't be good!
Do yourself a favor and spot weld the pickup tube.

1qt trans fluid, run it, change after 100-500miles. It will clean it! Do it EVERY oil change. It will clean it out as stated. I do it all the time to keep mine clean.

Don't do anything suggested. We deal with this ALL the time with Volkswagens. Notably the Passat 1.8T. You can use our VW process to repair this issue. If you dont handle properly and in a timely fashion it will cost you your motor.
Here is what you need to do.
First locate your nearest VW dealership and head to the parts dept. and purchase the VW Dynamic Engine Cleaner made by BG Part No. 103192. Understand this IS THE REAL DEAL, it is the ONLY product capable of dissolving harden sludge. This is 6 quart bottle with fluid that smells like turpentine.

Next hit up a auto part store and purchase 12quarts of oil and 2 cheap *** fram oil filters and 1 high end oil filter(pure1, AC delco, Mobil, Mopar). And purchase an oil pan gasket and a new oil pump pick up tube.
Now you have all the part and fluids, start of draining oil and replacing oil filter with cheapo filter.
Fill up the crank case with the whole bottle of the VW flush.
now here you need to start the jeep and running the engine at approx. 2,000rpm for 20 minutes.
After 20minutes you are to shut off the engine and IMMEDIATELY DRAIN THE FLUSH out the crankcase. Now be careful it will be very hot!.
Now you need to replace oil filter again with the other cheapo filter.
Refill crankcase with 6 quarts of oil, then start engine and hold 2,000rpm for 20 minutes once again.
Now heres where you do work. Drain oil. Remove oil pan, replace oil pick up tube, reinstall oil pan with new oil pan gasket. torque your oil pan bolt to approx. 80-100 inch pounds.
Replace you oil filter with good oil filter, refill oil. Enjoy your happier 4.0L.
