high oil pressure

Default high oil pressure

just the other day i was driving to work and noticed that my oil pressure was at 50 instead of the normal 40 and even when i stopped and the engine was just at idle the pressure didnt drop at all which it usually drops down to 20 at idle then the next day it was fine again now back at 50 today. any thoughts?

Fram oil filter? If it is it has probably collapsed. pressure going through bypass valve.

Pull the wire off the sending unit by the distributor, clean, and reattach. Any resistance in the wire or connection will cause a higher reading on the gauge.

If that doesn't work, check it with a mechanical gauge.
Or just replace the sending unit.

ya had an oil change about 500 miles ago and its a service pro filter by boss said there are 2 dif filters in the book maybe i take this filter off n try the other

My bet is that the oil pressure sending unit is on it's way out the door....

If you do end up replacing it, I'd recommend buying a Mopar unit from Jeep for best accuracy/reliability/mating with your factory gauge.

plus always wet the new oil filter media with new engine oil, the paper / media won't bend or get collapsed.
