The crankshaft position sensor has absolutely nothing to do with an engine not turning over. They are completely separate circuits. If a crank sensor is bad, the engine will turn over all day long, it just won't "start".
With a meter and about 10 minutes of your time when this happens, you can isolate this.

Test your way to a solution. It's effective and much easier than guessing.
Also, the bench testing that parts stores offer is in no way 100% fault coverage. Meaning that you can't bank on those test results. You either have a starter that is starting to fail, or an electrical problem with the power leading TO the starter.

a bad starter will just clunk.
a bad crank sensor will just crank all day long and not start. as with a bad fuseable link.
a bad nss will just do nothing. same as a blown fuse.
the problem is in your battery connections and or cables.
i would be checking/replacing all cables including the small signal cable that goes from the positive battery to the PDC.
clean well and use dielectric grease on all connections.
first, open your PDC and switch your starter relay with your horn relay and try starting and sounding your horn. this will confirm both relays.

an easy way to test if its a ground issue is to take a set of jumpercables and connect one end to the battery negativ terminal and the other to a good clean spot on the engine. then try to see if it will start.
when the starter motor first kicks in, it will draw ALOT of amps, and if you have a bad ground, it will only click. withvthe jumper cable you are sure to have a good ground to the engine.
if you figur out its a bad ground, then way to solve it, is either clean the points of connection, or replace the ground cables.
there will be one from the battery and to the body, and one from the body to the engine.
good luck with it, and let us know.

CPS... I believe when it goes it won't make a sound when u hit the key; like the battery was disconnected.
Again i lean towards the starter. Cps is still possible. as i said i'm not exactly sure if it will click when the cps goes bad.
