Help!!! Please....
Whats Up,
I have a 96 Jeep GC Laredo, and i have been having trouble with it starting for a while. i have takin it too numerous people and no one knows the problem. it used to start now it wont. the starter is fine, the alternator is fine, i just bought a new battery today changed the terminals and still nothing. when i turn the key i hear a clicking thats it. i think its either electrical or a fuse but its weird idk what else to do.

Do the dash lights turn on when you turn the key? And is it just one click? Or is it clicking? Do you hear the fuel pump start before you turn it to start?

How do you know the starter is fine?
With the key in the ON position, get a meter and check the voltage directly at the starter itself. It should be approximately the same as the voltage you measure at the battery.
If it is, the problem is likely the starter. It it is significantly different than battery voltage, you have a problem somewhere between the battery and the starter.

My bet is the starter. If i were you i would make sure the wires going to the starter and the battery are tight. someone dropped the ball here. this should be hard to figure out.
as said above. do you have dash lights, headlights, radio, horn??

This is for a grand cherokee right? Doesn't matter. I'm at a loss. I still think its eather a groun or stater.
I would take it somewere else. Autozone. And advance aren't really know for their car knowledge. Isee ur in nj. I would go to nappa. When u do find out what it is let us know.

I thought that's where u were goin with that but the nss wouldn't make a clicking soun. It wouldn't do anything. It would be like a dead battery. I still think its the starter.
