When the NSS is dead, everything turns on (except the reverse lights) it just won't turn over. Irrelevant anyway. Grab a starter from your local JY and swap it out.

Have you taken off the wires on the starter and cleaned them? And the battery terminals?

Bottom line is if it's clicking and not cranking it's an ignition or electrical issue. Start looking for loose wires, dirty connections, etc.

It's a nightmare. I had some issues with mine...it's really just the tedious matter of following wires, checking connections and fuses, cleaning grounds and connections. Get some PB blaster, steel wool, and a rag start looking! Fuses are easiest so start there. Let us know what you find.

Yeah you just have to pull them and look. It's kind of U shaped when you look through it. If it's burned through its bad. It obvious when you see one. Start with the fuse box under the hood.

Bet it's your CPS (crankshaft position sensor). Use "search" feature on this site and you'll find that your symptoms usually are caused with a bad CPS and need to replace it

That's a good possibility...but they aren't cheap and it's not a part you should get at a JY and it's a PITA to put in. Check your connections...start at the starter, and your fuses.

Im willing to put money on the CPS aswell. I had to replace mines not that long ago. No they are not cheap and no they are not easy to replace. Easiest way to replace is to drop the tranny slightly if possible. Check your CPS and the wire going to it. It could also jsut be dirty. Ive heard of people cleaning it off with a toothbrush and soapy water and it works again. Mine just died so I got a new one. Goodluck though.

BTW: An old trick to see if its a starter problem. Go undernether the jeep and tap the starter slightly with a wrench and see if it starts afterwards. If your starter is starting to go bad but isnt completely bad it might crank over.
