Default disconnect ac compressor?

Hello,

Is there a way to disconnect the AC compressor so it does not turn on when the car is on? call me a dummy if this is a stupid question...

there is a flat metal ring inside the bearing that got all torn up somehow. I took off the clutch and removed a bunch of metal built up from the shredded piece. does anyone know if I can get said piece by itself? I'm hoping I don't need to buy a new bearing to get this problem fixed.

any other input is appreciated

If u remove the a/c relay in PDC box, the compressor is disabled.

Unplug the two wire connector to the A/C clutch.

whats the PDC box?

is this something where I can still drive the car? or should I not drive it with the piece missing from the bearing? I'm hoping that disconnecting the compressor will allow me to drive on it

PDC = Power Distribution Center......the black box on the passenger side fender well. Removing the a/c clutch relay only disables the compressor.

I'm not exactly certain what broke. Can you describe better?
Generally as long as it isn't wobbly or making noise- it's probably OK.

a metal *washer*ish type metal piece that looks like it was protecting the ball bearings in the ac compressor bearing from dust. It broke off and i took it out and put the compressor clutch back on. I'm afraid to drive with it just because i'm ignorant to the parts. If i disconnect the clutch will that allow me to drive on it?

Should be OK as long as the clutch is released and not squealing or grinding. You can drive with a locked up AC compressor as long as the clutch is disengaged. Just pull the plug on the clutch and fasten it away from moving parts.

Awesome thanks. How would you suggest fastening it away from moving parts?

.....and if u pull the a/c clutch relay in the PDC, u don't have to worry about anything getting into moving parts.
