Tengo la idea de modificar una cherokee xj, ponerle un motor v8 diésel toyota el que usa el land cruiser, creen que funcionará perfecto? Y cuanto costará hacer un proyecto así?

No, it would not work perfectly. It would cost about as much a used Land Cruiser.

Whats the goal of the diesel swap? The cool factor? The ability to run diesel? The power increase?

If you are just after the power increase I would recommend turbocharging the 4.0L. With the current selection of engine management available its never been a more achievable goal.
