Well, gotta love vacation time, means i have more time to work on the Jeep
...
I got in my barpin eliminators from MORE, and threw the rear ones in. All of the upper bolts snapped (of course)...so i said screw it, and just welded the eliminators in over the busted bolts. Ill get some pics of it tomorrow. Ran to the junkyard, pulled the rear shocks from a Grand Cherokee, which are slightly longer than an XJ's, and do not use bar pins (so the bushings were in good shape). I bolted those in, and they work great! Nice to have shocks in the rear again haha.
Next project:
Started with this...

Then got to this:

Then to here:

And here:

A little over halfway done with it...any guesses what I'm making? Hope to finish it tomorrow...So i can start another project....

you are correct sir! Yea, my buddy has one in his TJ, i liked the look and function, so i thought i'd build my own. Have to get some more steel tomorrow, weld on the legs, also will incorporate a support for my subbox, which will keep it from moving around while offroading.

Well, just about finished with it:

Test fit:

added bar to keep sub box from moving forward, and first coat of primer:

Im happy with it. I will keep it removable, and use 4 racheting straps to hold it to the 4 hooks in the back.
Oh and heres a shot of my bar pin eliminator welded to the unibody:

Never have to worry about snapping those bolts again when removing the rear shocks. These shocks cost me 11 bux at the junk yard (still a bit too short thou), good for a temporary fix. Still considering what shocks i want to buy.

You might want to put some sort of barrier/wall on that to keep stuff from flying off when you slam on the brakes. Anyone riding in your back seat would appreciate it.
