PO cut up the a/c lines when he tried to fix it. I was going to delete the a/c, and install a Rock Auto a/c-delete bypass pulley. I pulled the a/c compressor, which has two long bolts to hold it to the frame that holds the engine fan pulley and the alternator underneath.
But the a/c delete pulley.... for the life of me I can't tell how it goes on. It is on a flat plate with 4 bolt holes, none of which line up if the pulley is in the plane of the serpentine bolt.
Does anyone have any experience? Pics of a delete pulley installation?
Help!

I haven't done this, but I think you also need the bracket.
See if this thread helps:

Edit: OK, I see that the bracket comes with it...

Mine does not look anything like that. The compressor uses two long fore-and-aft thru bolts, but the bypass pulley is on a square plate that takes four vertical bolts. They must have sent me the wrong one.

Your only option may be used. They've been discontinued for several years. The part number for the 87-90 a/c delete pulley is 53002904, but I can't find any online. If you have access to a local junkyard, you may have better luck finding the correct AC compressor bracket for yours.
They are available online, but they're expensive. The part number is
53011002 96-98
53006548 91-95
These both have the vertical bolt mounts, but I don't know what makes them different. They are listed as being for Wranglers, but the part numbers are the same as Cherokees.
You may get lucky here, if another member has one available. Try posting in the Wanted section.
Good luck!

the 53002904 ac delete bracket can still be found new online. I ordered one from whites racing. They buy new old stock to resell. I believe they still have more. I ordered the pulley and bushing off ebay and will get a grade 8 bolt at the hardware store to mount the pully to the bracket.
Hope this helps.
