Default 1996 FSM, where can I find a PDF version?

Before I start with this, let me say that I looked everywhere for this and I really hate to make a new thread, but all I could find were either sketchy websites or forums posts dating of at least 3-4 years, and most of them 2010 (that's already 6 years ago... damn) and earlier.

basically 1996 was a tricky year, and I guess that's why I can't seem to find this. I was able to used an archive tool to dig up some PDFs from a now defunct XJ website, but the list goes like this 1991-1992-1993-1994-1995-1997, etc. They skip over 1996! Then I found xjjeeps.com, but it's the same, no 96.

car-service-manuals.com doesn't seem trustworthy and I can't login (pretty sure even if I could it wouldn't have what I want).

So if anyone has a 96 factory service manual in PDF format they could PM me (or share openly, whatever suits you best), I'd be forever grateful!

Cheers!

Spend the $7.95 and it's yours, legally, foreva.

The way I understand the 96, you need a manual for pre-97 and post-97.
Here is one for 96. http://www.pacificcoastmanuals.com/1...ce_manual.html

It's not because I'm cheap, and call me paranoid but I simply don't trust these kind of websites.. unless you tell me yourself you've bought one and everything was fine. If you click the link to see the "video" of the manual, you get a nice "This video is no longer available because the YouTube account associated with this video has been terminated." Plus if you look at the footer, you can read "Copyright © 2013 PacificCoastManuals.com". If they haven't updated their youtube account and website in 3 years, I'm not sure I want to send them my money. Also paypal has a way to screw you over when you buy digital goods and they're not delivered, you can't prove you did or did not receive digital goods, it's intangible.

but like I said, if someone tells me they've successfully bought a manual from them in the last year, I'll go ahead and get it.

it's a mix between 95 (all the older body style stuff, interior, etc) and the 97 for OBDII and wiring (probably other things too). about the pacificcoast site, read what I said above.

In that case, I could PM you a link to a jeep forum that has pre and post 97 FSM. It's free to access in PDF form, gets downloaded to your computer.

I'll gladly take a look. I've already downloaded the 1995 FSM that I found earlier but for wiring it's useless since it all changed. Thanks!

Unless they fixed it, the Pacific Coast Manuals 1996 FSM is actually a '97 FSM.

I like to consider myself pretty open minded, so I decided to buy it anyway.

CCKen is right, their 1996 manual is a 1997. After downloading, I checked the windshield wiper fluid reservoir as a way to confirm it's for 1996 or 1997 :

1996 was still inside the engine bay, so I guess I had good reasons to doubt the website. Oh well, 10 bucks.

I'll vouch for PCM. Best 8 bucks I've ever spent on my rig.

definitely, I ordered and it sent the link to my paypal email, which doesn't work anymore because it was registered to my old domain name. sent an email and got a reply within 5-10 minutes with a direct download, so they're legit.

but like it was said, their 1996 seems to be in fact a 1997, that's the only thing I would complain about.

That'll get you 95% of the way there. There were some '96 only quirks that neither 95 nor 97 had. IIRC the PDC is slightly different, some of the wiring is different, the Fuel pressure regulator is one-year only...
