new fan clutch, greasy box?
I just got a new omix-ada (USMW) fan clutch for the xj. The box was soaked through with grease on the bottom, not wet/dripping but just like how a cheeseburger grease stains a paper bag. There is some clear oily stuff (silicone?) around the little center pin around which the thermostatic spring is wrapped. I know alot of auto parts come greasy but thought I should ask before replacing. Has anyone else gotten one like this, is it normal from filling the silicone at the factory? Or was I lucky enough to get one with a bad seal?

Should not be wet at all sounds like fluids leaked out I would return it. Local auto parts should have 1 in stock 4 a lot less.
