Ok, 04 we has been making noise in the front end when turning,going straight etc.
First thought was bad wheel bearings...NOT
2nd, bad gears in front differential........NOT
3rd, TC making noise ,bad pinion gear...NOT
Ends up that the source of all of this racket was a Bad ROTOR on the the d.s. Front wheel.
Replaced brakes and rotors and SHAPOW....no more noise.
The 4.0 is a great motor, the rest of the jeep is lacking. I bought this bcuz I got hit head on in my H3 and it was totaled. I like jeeps but I feel as though I'm replacing one thing or another on the suspension and every other consumable part on this thing.
Once I replace all of the worn parts this Cherokee it will be awesome. And if not I will set it on fire....JK.

My 2000 has had just about every part in the suspension replaced at one time or other in the past 3 years; 4 wheel bearings, all the brake parts, ball joints, tie rod ends, shocks, brake hoses, CV shafts, etc. Everything has been fine for the past year, but in the back of my mind, there is something else it's going to need. I can feel it! The 4.0 got me with a cracked head, water pump, fan motor and relay. With the new head, now it's using oil with no visible leaks. What next?
