Guess it's off to the tire/lift questions thread to see what to get with taxes

I have a 1 inch lift with 30x9.5in all terrains and I want to get some used rims because I want the tires to stick out a bit. Would 3.75 backspacing do anything noticeable?

What size wheel spacers would give a similar look?

You don't want spacers. Proper backspace is the better option.

Default Need Help

I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, 4.7L 4WD. Jeep starts but turns off once you let go of the throttle. It has a new fuel filter, starter, starter solenoid, checked all the grounds, checked fuel pressure and it's good, and checked with noid light kit and everything was good. I am stumped and I really need help on what's going on with the thing.

Have your battery checked. Or if you've had your battery disconnected lately then make sure connections are really good. My dads 99 with 4.7 recently had that prob intermittently.

I have his old battery in my garage now and it's still reading 12.54 volts. Not sure what's wrong with it. His jeep was running fine again for like 2 weeks but he changed the battery anyway. Was hoping I could use it in an xj but I think it's too big.

Battery is brand new and connections are good and clean, the vehicle is getting power when it starts but you have to floor it to keep it on. I'm wondering if it could be bad or dirty fuel injectors but I'm not sure what the symptoms of that are. I did put fuel injector cleaner in but it will take a while of running for it to get there.

I have 30x9.5x15 inch firestone destination at tires right now, I want new wheels. Will these wheels be able to handle both the tires I have now and the same tires in the future but 31x10.5?

Yes, but I recommend a 15x7 unless you plan to step up to a 12.5" wide tire in the future

Anyone know much about these indicator panels?

- Are they different by years (I mean the pre ... '96 years)
- do they have different options / words
- I'm thinking about making 1 of the sections an indicator for exactly which gear I'm in - instead of the 1-2 3 D N R P on the console ( in addition to, and separate)
Maybe another indicator e.g. rear proximity, or headlights On

the arrow is for stick only, means shift up.
the green full time is obv for np242
in canada we have icons instead of BRAKE, FULL TIME and LOW WASHER, not sure about MAINT REQD and SECURITY, never seen them appear on my jeep.

Dumb question - how do you get at the bulb in the rear dome light, the one back by the tailgate, in a '99 XJ? Front one is easy enough, the lens just pops off, but the rear is constructed differently with the lens hinged and operating a switch. I figure it's probably simple enough but don't want to bust the lens by doing the wrong thing.

Pop out the whole thing. Be somewhat gentle. Plastic does get brittle over the years. When you look at it from the back it will be self explanatory.
