Don't ever buy anything that might have been owned by a tweeker. I don't know why, but for some reason they all decide even though they have no clue what they are doing they have to completely rewire every car they own even though there was nothing wrong with it in the first place.

Yep, those are the ones!

Or like when they install a 3" notch in a support beam to run a sewer line. Notch on the bottom of the beam, of course!

So I was wondering if I run the main wiring from the fog lights that I'm gonna end up mounting on the top of the fenders through the firewall, will I need to put a gasket to seal it for water protection

To clarify what I mean is that where the fog lights are going I will be cutting another hole behind the mounting holes that I will run the wiring through, will I have to put a rubber gasket and seal in order to prevent it from rusting from there and also protecting the wiring itself?

OK so 170 watts being pushed by 13.8 volts is 12.3 amps.
Hardly a sneeze for a good functioning standard alternator.

I'm not clear on where you are cutting, but yes, you need a gasket of some kind. You also need to paint the cut edges, or they will rust. A gasket won't stop that.

Changed my mind on the light placement but regardless wherever the lights go I'm putting the gasket in and painting it

So about a week after bringing the old battery back to life and still no problems, I'm hoping to start wiring tomorrow which will be on the Junior build thread, does anyone know if the cherokee came with only one output level alternator or if they had different ones available?
