Default to dual, or not to dual?

Does anyone have dual exhaust on their 4.0 XJ's? If so does it sound good, or no? Been thinking about it.

I have a hard time not crushing my single offroad. It would be harder not to crush a dual.

Duals should sound alright but i personally dont like the look of dual exhaust on a xj. Just my opinion though, its your jeep.

I agree with troy. I have ripped mine loose on the trails and 2 would be even more likely to get snagged on something.

only way you're getting true duals is with a 2 piece manifold.

Well, thanks for the input, I do a lot off of wheeling in mud/deep ruts. Methinks the money might be better suited towards something more practical.

he means like a 3+3 manifold. that means custom fab.

i, personally, think duals should not be on an inline vehicle. it comes out of the manifold as 1 pipe, whats the point of branching it off into two. but i guess if you have the cash, and want the duals look, then go for it. but it wont be beneficial over a single exhaust.

bmw inlines came with dual exhuast so just cause jeeps didn't come like that doesn't mean all inlines came as one log manifold.

all bmw I6 are true dual and are either y'd into a single (the m20b27) or ran duals all the way back (all other bmw I6)

this is an m20b25 bmw motor (2.5l i6)

under car pic showing pipes

exhaust size is dependant on how much exhuast gas you are moving through your engine. if you ahve a small amount going in then not alot is going to exit so no reason to make a large exhaust sytem.
