Owned a YJ for about 8 years, and recently caught the bug for a Cherokee. Found one on the east coast that was stock and the color I wanted. 1989 Limited. She has 32k on the odometer and one owner. So far I love it and I am already scouring the forums once again.
Known issues so far:
Likes to downshift if I slightly let off on the pedal. Adjusted TPS on tranny side last night but issue is still there...maybe a new sensor is in order with a tranny pan fluid replacement
Door locks voltage low (already bought the relays)
Poor temp recovery - has started to act like its going to over heat on a couple of long drives. Don't know which thermostat it currently has, so ordered a 195 and need to do a very thorough coolant flush
Cruise control not working. Checked over vacuum lines but haven't looked at reservoir behind bumper. Considering changing the brake light switch because I noticed i have to press the brake kind of hard before it lights up the brake lights, and have heard this could affect cruise control.
Trans switch for comfort or power does not light up so probably not functioning. What does it resort to? Have read that you can bypass it by wiring something together...
Want to install a tranny cooler without bypassing the radiator
Want to install the fog lights
Welcome fellow michigander! That's a very nice specimen of an XJ you've got there. I had an identical RHD version not long ago, absolutely miss it for my winter ride!

I cant thank ya enough Cruiser! Did your ground upgrades on the battery, engine block and gauge cluster. Wouldn't ya know it the power antenna works now (previously didn't) and the car just feels normal now. The weird downshift that was happening when i would take my foot slightly off of the accelerator is now gone. Plan on doing the fuel pump and blower motor ground soon. Thank again for your website and contribution to the Jeep community
