Question What would you upgrade?

So I have been doing some serious mudding with my XJ, have gotten a LOT of mud in the engine bay(no issues for now), and was wondering what would you guys upgrade on an XJ like mine.

95 XJ
4.0L HO
Open Dana 30 / Chrysler 8.25 (I belive 27 spline since its a 95 xj) 4.56 gears
35s Maxxis Big Horn
No SYE
RC 6.5 inch short arms lift
Trans cooler, 3 row radiator, silicone water hoses, ZJ fan clutch
Durango steering box and WJ steering pump
CavFab high clearance crossover steering

My plan is doing mud mainly and little to no rocks crawling, as well as DD.

Maybe a snorkle.(I cant tell if it has one or not)
Maybe some skid plates to help slide through the mud better? Looks like a pretty capable rig.

Ask yourself what you dont like about it or what are its shortcomings?

It does have a snorkle. I was thinking about a SYE but do not know if it would be necessary as i have not had any vibration problems while I drive above 70mph. What do you think?

Skid plates sounds interesting, actually I never thought of that, did not even know they make those for XJs.

I'd get rid of the short arms ASAP and drop the suspension down an inch and a half or so
Add an SYE ASAP
Fab up a bumper solution (front and rear) as well as sliders
Truss BOTH axles and armor the front axle
Go a bit deeper on the gears as well

From there it'd be personal mods to form the look or to add functionality for my needs.

Being my DD, i mean is the only car I have, what would you recommend selectable lockers or would auto lockers work just fine?

Auto lockers aren't going to hurt anything, just adjust your driving style to match. Only bad case is packed snow/ice for an auto locker in the front (from what I've read)

Well I don't get any snow where I live so it should not be a problem

How about uniframe stiffner? Do you think thatd be an overkill for a rig that most probably wont see any rocks?

Stiffeners are never a bad idea if you're willing to do the work (they need to be done right to be effective)

Any kind of strength you can add to the XJ over time will help.
