That's great to hear!
I wonder if that same Durango steering box would work on my 1992 Sport. My steering wheel is all crooked and has a dead spot and the pump makes a bunch of noise way before full lock.

I hope the best for this to fix the problem you had!

If your steering box is the same as a '96 XJ, then it should work. But if your XJ is stock, I would just put the same stock box back on.
Sounds like you need a new PS pump.
You can fix the crooked steering wheel by adjusting the drag link. Just make sure your wheels are straight before you start adjusting it.

I had a guy explain the role caster has in handling in lifted rigs very simply, he said "You ever noticed how grocery carts handle like $hit? That's caster."

When I did my axle swap, I pushed so far forward that now if I full stuff the driver's front tire, it cracks the windshield washer reservoir. No more tramlining except on the WORST grooved roads.

I'm gonna go for another 1/4-1/2" longer on the bottom control arms and see what happens. Anymore and I think my driveline vibrations will be out of control.

For someone with a worn boot and TRE it should tighten stuff up tho.
Thanks! 😊
