Default TC Lock Up Switch

Hello, I was wandering if there is a way to get it to where my jeep does not run away when going down hill. I have looked up the TC lock up switch mod but I do not want to change the gears manually. So is there a way to make it to where I just flip a switch and the TC is always locked, or is there another solutions to making it to where my jeep does not run away going down hills.

First gear? I put mine in first gear and it will go to about 20 in high range coasting and 5 in low range.

That's what I was thinking. First if it's a manual, 2 if it's an auto.

Look up a wiring diagram an see if the lock up solenoid is ground controlled. If it is just tap into the pin that runs to the solenoid an run a switch to ground. Converter will be locked with switch on an run normal with stitch off

Do a google search better. There's a mod to make the 1-2 in an AW4 to be 1. And for the TC mod too. Easy wiring. Tapping into harness. I forgot exactly who did the write up but they dis a good job of it.

Here we go, this may help. First thing found on Bing.

I didn't do it yet but its on my list of mods. I will be doing a switch for the 1st gear lock up and foe the TC lock up. There's a better write up and my google fuu sucks right now. I want to do it for the sake of when I going down steep hills or offtoading too. But normally probably wouldn't use it everyday. For me, 01, I would get a CEL probably when I flick a switch

Basically it is a switch that allows you to use 2nd gear whenever you want, while shifter is in the 1-2 position. I still need to do it in my XJ. But, should be a non-issue for normal driving.
