Default pros and cons of coil spacers???

i have a 01 xj with a 4.5 rough country kit. the kit recomends 32in tires well i got a great deal on some 33's bad thing is they scrub pretty bad. i was thinking about gettin the 2in coil spacer and block or add a leaf in the rear but i figured id get some of you guys opinions first. thanks

Coil spacers for the front are nice.

I would get longer shakles and relocation brackets for the rear though.

i had a 6.5" kit on the front and when i put my winch bumper and winch on there it sagged pretty bad, so i threw up a spacer on there, kept my jeep level, love them

Default coil spacers

coil spacers fro the front are cheap... and fine for the front over 4.5 as long as ur running longer control arms ... stock arms tend to put the spring into too much of a bind for my taste . rear youd be better off using a set of drop shackles...aal's make the ride too harsh if they're doubled up....i stuck a set of revolver shackles with a 2 inch add a leaf on mine and love the ride...

So a 2 inch coil spacer on the front and bigger shackles for the back and it shouldn't ride much different?

nope, it will rid nice, with a 2 inch spacer up front a a 2 inch shackle in the back. now you cant go much more then that with stock shocks and control arms, i have seen a 3 inch lift with stock control arms, but ride sucked, and from what i saw this weekend, i hate stock LCA! i saw one wrinkle up like an accordion from hitting a rock on a rubicon! they are plain garbage, only made to save weight and less road noise

I have ran the spacers on every single one of my XJ's. Never liked the look of the *** end sitting higher than the front. Never had a single problem with them.

dont go from 4.5'' of lift to 6.5'' of lift if your 33's rub lol. Get the damn saw out and cut the bull**** out of the way in the front.

Search cut and fold rear arches etc.

I'm doing the same thing to fit my 33's and still have an ok flex (even tho I've never rock crawled it just looks cool )

I'm looking into getting an ADJ track bar, ADJ upper and lower contol arms, and probaly longer shocks. Out back I'm already sitting at like 6" of lift but I'm still going to toss some iron man ADJ shackles out back to give me a bit more hight and fix my ****ed up piñon angle ( I can't spell and my phone Keeps "fixing" that sorry)

They will rid ok and I'm sure your XJ will look amazing. I understand why you would not want to cut up a perfectly good fender. I have rust and I still don't Wana just hack away at it.

Good luck

Brandon

I believe they were made like that for a reason. It's a weak point so when in the wrong circumstances it doesn't destroy the unibody. Instead you just have to replace them.
