I've seen 4" of lift with LAs on a zj. and I have wheeled with a guy who has an LJ with 4" of lift LAs and 37's, it is really capable and stable. 3" is really low so you will have to trim quite a bit to clear larget tires when you flex.... id say do it,it will have a really low COG and flex amazing.
What's your end plans as far as tires, and axles? That should be considered

Low cog is my end goal. 3 inch lift currently trimmed fenders and 31's currently, but i want to have great flex/DDcomfort with 33's and go no higher i am also going to be adding the iceland offroad flares

You might have to worry about the arms hitting the frame rails at that highth. Unless you had big tires and bump stopped it before it got there. Just a thought

I have seen a 3" LA kit but it was pricey. The arms did have a slight s bend for the rails and large tires. It was a jeep speed kit. Probably why it was so pricey

My wife has a 4 inch lift with 35's on her xj, the flex is amazing on it, but you might want to run a spacer on top of your front coil springs so that your long arms don't hit the frame.

or bump stop correctly. spacers wouldn't make it a 3 inch lift anymore

What about the angle of the control arms, would that effect anything?

what about mid arms... one option might be using JK front control arms...

I am running JK front control arms (uppers 19" and lowers 22 5/8") with home made adjustable frame mounts... it flexes and rides awesome... I think it would be even better at 3-3.5"
